What GILLI does

Method
The bite score is the start. GILLI then names the situation, the technique, the rig and the mistake that kills the presentation.
SITUATION
Shore, pier or boat. The rig changes with where your feet are, not just with the fish.
TECHNIQUE
Spinning, fly, float, feathering, jigging, trolling, bottom fishing and ledgering. Pick one and the whole setup below it changes.

REGIONAL LIMITS
If a species is outside its usual regional season, GILLI says so before you drive. Regulatory notes flag hook and bycatch limits where supported; current official rules remain the authority.
YOUR TACKLE BOX
Save a lure once and its inventory, favourites, photos and catch history stay together. When enough matching catches exist, that lure can show up again for that species and water.
Predator and lure
Pike, perch and zander, with freshwater lure patterns organised by action style and prey.

GILLI waits for enough similar days before calling something a pattern. When one appears, it shows how many days sit behind it.
CHECK
GILLI keeps the score it showed for that species, place and window. When you later log a matching catch or blank day, you can see the two side by side. It does not rewrite later scores.
Why GILLI exists
When I returned to fishing after years away, better tackle did not make choosing a method any clearer. The same setup produced fish one day and a blank the next.
As a biologist and software engineer, I began recording the conditions around catches and blank days. GILLI grew into one place to learn the fish, plan the water, keep the log and compare what tends to repeat.

How GILLI gets built: the models, the maps and the calls behind the score.
European sea bass are ordinary on warmer Atlantic coasts. On the Swedish west coast they arrive as visitors at the edge of the range, so a summer harbour day still starts with whether the fish is even there.
ReadAdult Atlantic salmon leave the sea and run the river to spawn. They will still take a fly on that journey, because the strike remains even when the day's work is the run.
ReadIn many northern lakes, July surface water sits near 18 °C. Vendace still prefer about 6 to 12 °C, so they gather in the cool band below, on the thermocline or a cold inflow.
